Kanda Sisomphane is a sushi chef at Shokai Sushi in Burlington, Iowa. He received his training at Takanami Japanese restaurant in Iowa City before becoming a Hibachi chef at Three Samurai of Coralville, Iowa in 2004. After 2 years in Coralville he partnered up with friends and opened up Kaji Japanese grill in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 2007 he left Kaji and opened up Shokai Sushi in Burlingtion, Iowa with his brother, after 3 years his brother expanded Shokai to Fairfield, Iowa. Kanda is an advocate of eat healthy, live healthy. He has been pushing for more local, natural, non-GMO, gluten free and vegan products. With no offerings for prepared sushi meal kits, Kanda set out to provide fresh ingredients to your home!
